Floor Plan Details:Riverbend Timber Framing - The Pearl Lake HomeThis striking 5,200-square-foot timber-frame home was a part of the Traverse City HBA Parade of Homes in June, 2006, and garnered multiple awards, including the prestigious People's Choice Award and a State of Michigan EnergyStar Grant for 2005, which are given to projects that demonstrate energy efficiency and innovative design and construction. The oak timber frame is enclosed with Insulspan™ Structural Insulating Panels (SIPS). Hardi Plank siding and Mira Tec Trim were used on the exterior. Inside, the attention to detail was integrated into every facet of the home. There is a radiant in-floor heating system, which has a layer of "Insultarp" underneath the metal grid base, which further increases the energy efficiency of the dwelling by reducing heat loss into the ground. In the kitchen and study, cork flooring was chosen as the floor covering which is warm to the touch and comfortable to walk on. While the impressive home with its expansive ceilings and open spaces is stunning to look at, its energy efficiencies are not compromised.
